Description
| Field | Details |
|---|---|
| Test Case ID | TC_LPM_XXX |
| Module | Leave Policy Matrix |
| Test Scenario | Validate Min Service Period (Months) field with excessively large numeric input |
| Precondition | User should have access to the Leave Policy Matrix page |
| Test Steps | 1. Navigate to Master → Leave Policy Matrix. 2. Select a Leave Type, e.g., Sick Leave. 3. Under Eligibility Rules, select an Employee Category. 4. Enter an excessively large numeric value in Min Service Period (Months). 5. Click Save. |
| Test Data | 05648897789789797897989799798 |
| Expected Result | The system should validate the input and display a proper user-friendly validation message. It should not send an invalid/overflow value to the backend or result in an Internal Server Error (500). |
| Actual Result | An Internal Server Error (500) is displayed. API response shows: invalid input syntax for type integer because the entered value exceeds the supported integer range. |
| Status | Fail |
| Severity | High |
| Priority | High |
| Defect | Min Service Period field accepts an excessively large value and causes a backend 500 error instead of showing field-level validation. |
